Dateline: April 19th, 2018
The Vikings battled the Quakers in the second game of the double header. The final tally was Quakers 12, the Vikings 13 in a wild one which had each team put up a six run inning. Junior Kristin Terwilliger went 6 strong innings giving up 10 runs but only 5 earned. She held them to only 2 hits but allowed 10 free passes and had 3 strikeouts. Freshman Taylor Hacker relieved in the 7th to shut down the uprising to be the pitcher of record and get the win. Three Viking players led the way on offense with a multi-hit game. Sophomore Meah Snider, Junior Natalie Halsey and freshman Emmelee Bates all collected 2 singles. Senior Val McMaster had 4 RBI and scored 3 runs, the last being the game winner in the bottom of the 7th inning. The Vikings also had 14 stolen bases to help move base runners around the diamond. The Quakers were led by shortstop A. Dixon with a 2 for 4 night and 3 RBI. The win brings the Viking season record to 2-6. Next up is the Viking Invitational at Potterville High School this coming weekend.
