The Lady Vikings took on the Quakers of Lansing Eastern in a non-conference battle. The Quakers on the strength of a 6 run 3rd inning were able to hold off the Vikings for a 10-5 victory. The Vikings were led at the plate by senior Bree Kubasczyk and senior Val McMaster each with two hits. McMaster rolled up 3 stolen bases, as the Vikings were on the move with 8 steals for the game. Freshman Taylor Hacker was on the mound and took the loss. Eastern was led at the plate by third baseman A. Powaga with 3 hits. Senior S. Parision pitched 7 innings to collect the win. Coach Carlson after the game had this to say. ” We played well enough to win, except the 3rd inning, where a couple of plays needed to be made. We make two plays and it becomes a zero in the books for that inning. It is part of the growth process and will get better.” The Vikings are now 1-6 on the year.
